ZIPPORAH MAPP SUMPTER
Zipporah Mapp Sumpter is a graduate of South Carolina State University(Cum Laude) and received her law degree from North Carolina Central University.
Zipporah has practiced law in the Orangeburg area for over twenty (20) years and established herself as a business owner with her law practice in the Orangeburg area over fifteen (15) years.
Zipporah Mapp Sumper was bestowed with the Pro Bono Award from the South Carolina Bar Association presented annually to lawyer(s) who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to volunteer legal services for the poor and disadvantaged. These services ensure that representation is provided to individuals and families in need of free civil legal assistance.
Zipporah Mapp Sumpter formally served as Professor at South Carolina State University, Adjunct Professor at Claflin University and currently serves as Professor in the Continuing Education program at Claflin University.
Zipporah Mapp Sumpter has volunteered on various campaigns for South Carolina State Representatives and served as a legal advisor for the Obama Campaign (Orangeburg) 2008.
Zipporah Mapp Sumpter is an internship provider for the schools of Pre-Law, Criminal Justice & Sociology for local area colleges. She also mentors up and coming students of law school.
Zipporah Mapp Sumpter is an active member of the Orangeburg Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Mapp Sumpter is Past President of the Orangeburg County Bar Association, member of the South Carolina Bar and Orangeburg Bar Association
Zipporah Mapp Sumpter continues service to her community serving as the Assistant Local Executive Director for The Crown Group, Board Member of Sheridan Elementary Parent Teacher Student Association and Board Member of Sheridan Elementary School Improvement Council.
Recently, Zipporah Mapp Sumpter was recognized as one of the Thirty Top Most Influential Women of 2013 in the South Eastern Region by South East Small Business Magazine. In addition to her dedication to her community, Zipporah Mapp Sumpter maintains an unwavering commitment to her husband and three children. Zipporah Mapp Sumpter regularly attends Corner Stone Community Church and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
